10. Superbad (2007)
“Superbad” sees a return to what the awkward days of school was like with two friends, Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) who are faced with the fact that once high school is over the two may never see each other again as they have been accepted to separate schools. Now Evan likes Becca (Martha MacIsaac) but also hates her for getting him in trouble long ago but still wants to end up with her. Same as Seth likes Jules (Emma Stone) who invites him to a part three days before school ends. So to impress the girls of their dreams, the guys grab a friend Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) who has a fake ID and use him to help get beer. However the store is robbed at the same time and two police officers arrive, Slater (Bill Hader) and Michaels (Seth Rogen) arrive and question the boys. This isn’t the last time tonight the officers run into Seth and Evan. Can the boys get the beer to the party, get the girls and outwit the cops?
9. Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is an English bloke who spends his time hanging out in the local pub and playing video games with his friends. He has lost his girlfriend, messed up his relationship with his mom, and is stuck in a bad job. When a 28-days-later type zombie epidemic invades his town, he leads a group of people in a trek to safety from their homes to the pub, while trying to fix his relationship problems along the way. When he gets to the pub they find it infested with zombies, and must use their ingenuity and video game honed skills to save the day.
8. The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
The 40 year old virgin is a film about a man who has reached 40 years of age without having sex once. The very shy man works at an electronics retailer in a stock-room position and interacts with many of the other employees in the store, including a very outgoing sales manager and several raunchy sales associates. One day he is given the opportunity to play poker with his associates and they discover his virgin status. From this point, the rest of the movie involves their attempts to "improve" him so that he can have sex and no longer be a virgin. He tries many different schemes to get laid and meets several women. One very nice woman that he is interested in is a little older and not what his friends consider his best option, however although his friends are continuously pushing him to have as much sex as he can, he realizes that he likes the older woman and wants to make his first time a special experience.
7. Rock n Rolla (2008)
A group of London hoodlums, One Two (Gerard Butler), Mumbles (Idris Elba), and Handsome Bob (Tom Hardy), scheme to steal the $7 Million euros that a Russian billionaire is paying crime-lord Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson) in a real-estate scheme. At the same time, the Russian billionaire has lent his 'lucky painting' to Lenny, following which it is promptly stolen from Lenny's office. As the chaos unfolds, seemingly all of London's shadiest characters, junkies, Russian mercenaries, and supposedly dead rockers get pulled into the chase for the money, and the 'lucky painting'.
6. Hot Fuzz (2007)
Nick Angel (Simon Pegg) is one of the best cops in London. In fact, he is too good, and to improve the morale of his less capable colleagues, Nick is promoted but transferred to the idyllic village of Sandford. At first, things look intolerable for the new cop from the city, as his world of drug busts and apprehension of murderers is replaced by nabbing underage drinkers and chasing down missing swans. When Nick is not staking out the swan, he dutifully answers the questions about being a big city police officer from his young partner Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), and resists dessert offers from Danny's father, Chief Inspector Kenneth (Bill Nighy). Sandford looks like a crime free paradise until a string of accidental deaths occur. Nick's big city cop instincts kick in as he starts to suspect foul play. However, the major presences in Sandford like the Inspector or retail magnate Met Sergeant (Martin Freeman) refuse to believe Nick. Slowly, as Nick continues his chase, the big city cop-like-you-see-on-TV dreams of Danny start to become real, the stuff of Danny's DVD collection becomes the stuff of his life.
